Victorian Spider's nest
These paper lace doily spider webs will look so elegant on your wall that they almost don’t qualify as Halloween decorations! Luckily the plastic spiders do bump up the creep factor, if only slightly!
To make this spider nest I used a combination of different “webs”.
You will need:
Paper lace doilies (Dollar Tree!)
wooden skewers
package of spider web/plastic spiders
black spray paint
glue gun/sticks
For the white webs I simply attached tiny plastic spiders onto paper lace doilies and that was it!
For the black webs I spray-painted them in various sizes with some cheap spray paint and let it dry.
For the cotton and wood webs it was a little bit more involved.
I bought wooden skewers from Walmart, a 50 pack for $1, along with one package of web and spiders for $1.
I cut up the spider web into three strips.
With lots of glue I sandwiched four crossed skewers to make a structure like the one pictured below.
Then I attached one end of the web to the center of the structure and, using glue to secure in place, slowly winded outwards.
Then go back through and gently stretch some of the web out.
Now top with a spider and done!
