Acorn Cap Garland

On a hike up the mountain I came across a mess of littered, used acorn caps that the squirrels obviously had no use for. Acorn tops are quite irresistible- I had to do something. I gathered them up and made a garland to grace the shelves above the wood stove.

Luckily I also had some pretty, brightly-colored wood beads that I could easily string thread through and then glue the caps onto. It would also work well to replace with felt balls or paint some wood beads yourself. I was searching in my craft box for paints when I suddenly spied my jar of painted wooden beads that I got from the Dollar Tree recently.

And just like magic, my idea was imagined. This is how it’s executed…

I found these beads at the Dollar Tree and had to grab them. They’re brightly colored and ready for little kids to string. They come in different sizes and was the perfect replacement to my acorn caps since my acorn caps naturally come in extra small, small, and medium.

You don’t have to paint and the holes are already made!!

Simply string the beads in whatever order you wish onto some festive baker’s twine, jute rope, or string.

Then with hot glue, glue on the acorn caps!!

A half hour project that currently is festively adorning my shelves and which may end up on my Christmas tree because they really just turned out SO CUTE!!
