Am I the only one who gets puts up their Valentine decorations about two weeks after I take down my Christmas stuff? I always tell myself I need some time to “decompress” and literally less than two weeks my fingers are itching and my toes are tapping to go to the Dollar Tree.

I had a giant, lovely waterproof porch decoration in mind. Something that basically just resembles a big, giant heart. Of course, the Dollar Tree read my mind and had pool noodles set out with all of the other Valentine’s stuff. Conveniently colored in pink, white, and red. Almost as if they read my mind in advance. Silently persuasive and effectively manipulative is what that Dollar Tree is.

I bought two but honestly could have done with a third one if I could figure out how to keep them all together without the tension pulling them apart. The rubber band works well if you have a covered porch area without too much wind but they would have been more sturdy with maybe some zip ties?

I’m lukewarm on how this project turned out because I was going for bold but got detoured by the pretty pastel tinsel at the end because I cannot resist sparkle. Either way, maybe this is a good takeoff point for a more elaborate future project! Stay tuned.
