Edible Candy Crystals

Edible Candy Crystals

Do you ever buy yourself flowers?

I’m speaking to all of the ladies out there who are married but feel single. Something about buying yourself flowers when you’re married because you otherwise wouldn’t receive them feels simultaneously depressing and liberating. I suppose I’m indulging in self love. It does cheer me up and eventually the spread of gloom dissipates as I’m greeted buy some frilly, fanciful carnations. I guess Miley Cyrus was right. Not that I listen to her music but that line was repeatedly played on Tik Tok enough times until I understood the understatedly profound feeling that comes with buying yourself flowers. Maybe I’ll write my name in the sand later too…

Anywho, I made this beautiful crystal candy for Valentine’s day and it turned out really neat. As I’m typing this I’m thinking that I should do this again with my little homeschooled daughter and her friend. They love crystals and these really do look like crystals!

I bought this Telephone agar agar powder and it worked out really well for me. Of course I had to use edible glitter and some dried flowers because, why would you not?

I used this recipe. I follow this girl on Tik Tok and she is just so cute!

Also, if you plan on making these, make sure you set them out to dry on parchment paper because they become extremely sticky through the drying process.

And also, make them about a week in advance because they actually do take that long to completely set up and become crunchy on the outside and jelly on the inside.

Enjoy!
