heart attack chair

Once, years ago, I had a dear old friend that lived next door. His name was Frank and he was 82 at the time. We were wonderful friends and he gave me lots of amazing stories of his 82 years of living. I miss him.

One Valentine’s day I baked him lots of valentine’s cookies and I gave his front door a heart attack. I wish I had a picture of it. I cut out tons of pretty pink, purple, and blue hearts and taped it to his front door. I put a plate of cookies on his step with note that said, Frank, you’ve had a heart attack! Love, Deziree. I think he liked the humor and the sentiment because kept those paper hearts on his door until, well, they blew off themselves by the winter rain, wind, and sleet.

I made a heart attack chair to decorate my front porch for valentine’s day. Yes I know I made giant heart recently but it didn’t work out and, well, I don’t want to talk about it.

Anyway, I had pack of foam hearts but they didn’t have the sticker backing on them. So I got some remnant fabric from my fabric box and tied it around my chair and hot glued the hearts on. It turned out pretty cute! Not only will the hearts stay on the through the rest of the winter rain, sleet, and wind but they will remind me of Frank and how much I made his day that year on Valentine’s.
