rose gold valentine truffles

These Valentine heart truffles were the result of me giving up on making real chocolate truffles. I even made the fancy flavored cream filling (orange and lemon) and I was going to make cream filled chocolate truffles for Valentine’s day and I failed. But these were even better. I don’t have a recipe but I had a clean-out-my-cupboard inspiration with ingredients I already had on hand and the end result was pretty yummy! I wish I had taken a better picture of the “truffles” themselves before they were dipped in chocolate but it was basically 3-4 cups of ground frosted flakes, 1/2 cup of peanut butter and 1/2 cup of honey until I got a consistency that was workable. Then I froze them in heart shaped molds and dipped them in pink-toned white chocolate. I loved the end result! They were the pretty truffles that were never realized had I not messed up on the previous ones! Finally for a pretty finishing touch I added edible gold flakes and they became instantly Valentine’s-worthy. Because what girl doesn’t have an affinity for rose gold??
