Hi!

Welcome to my little space.

Beauty and the Beast preserved rose

Beauty and the Beast preserved rose

This isn’t really a tutorial since the process was just too simple and explanatory but I love how this tiny and almost effortless and meaningful gift turned out for a friend!

In the midst of Christmas madness, my neighbor had brought over a beautiful dried rose that her daughter had gifted her a while back. In the past, I have dabbled with resin and she gave it to my son and asked him to give it to me and that “I would know what to do with it”. LOL. I really didn’t know what to do with it. But I decided I would try. However, without resin because resin can either be hit or miss and you don’t want to miss when it comes to a one chance opportunity with someone’s sentimental something or other. I didn’t want to screw up her pretty rose!!

Her birthday also happened to be weeks away so it was perfect timing to create something. But how do you make a gift out of a dried flower without any means of preserving it for forever? Awhile back I ordered these beautiful glass domes with cork cloches. Also, I happened to know that her daughter’s favorite childhood princess was Beauty and the Beast (same as mine!).

With a little bit of hot glue and some gold resin flakes it became the iconic rose that stirs up childhood romance, mystery, and magic from old 90’s Disney movies (when Disney was good!).

Maybe she needed someone to show her how to live and maybe he needed someone to show him how to love…
