Hi!

Welcome to my little space.

July is gay pride awareness month and while this is very muchly not July (it’s March) I had to make this wreath because my fingers were just itching to. Also, my Etsy shop seems to come alive with rainbow-seeking buyers in the coming months. I think that rainbow wreaths are so fun and versatile. I had a rainbow wreath in my kid’s nursery room for years. It was made out of scrap material and it turned out really cute. Eventually I sold it on Etsy (during the month of July, of course!).

Ah, I still have a picture! If I ever make another one then I will be sure to do a post on it.

Anyway, I had a plethora of dried flowers lying around. So many, in fact, that I started to realize that I had all colors of the rainbow… And a colorful wreath was just begging to be created.

This wreath is made up of both domestic and wildflowers. Most of the flowers were dried in silica gel to retain their natural shape and color.

Yes, it’s quite fragile (and I break a tiny nervous sweat every time I handle it).

BUT

It’s also quite beautiful.

The cooler colors are made up of dried petunia, baby’s breath, delphinium, echinacea, Russian sage, Queen Anne’s Lace, daisy, and lamb’s ear.

And the warmer colors are made up of dried sunflowers, roses, cosmos, poppies, violet, hollyhock, and sweet allysum.
