Hi!

Welcome to my little space.

Does it surprise you to know that this delphinium is actually completely dried and has been for the past six months?

Because it still shocks me every time I pull out my box of dried delphinium.

The vibrancy of this flower is just as intense as it was when I first harvested it.

Not only is their form perfectly kept but so is their hue. The texture and variation of each floret, all the way down to their stamen.

To me, delphinium is the perfect ombre plant as each stalk produces a slightly different shade of blue, white, and purple. So that when they’re all harvested and dried and laid out together, it creates a perfectly dimensional array as each color fades into the next.

I planted my delphinium seeds in the soil in front of my bedroom window about 7-10 years ago and it comes back without fail every single summer.

Delphinium is a perennial and prefers cool, moist summers. Much like the sweet pea which also produces a stunning array of blues, purples, pinks and whites and also prefers the cooler, moister summers.

Stay tuned on my application of dried delphinium in a dried flower wreath!
