DIY Dollar Store Monster puppets

We're busily making busy boards over here and I thought I'd share a quick idea that we’ll probably clip onto our busy boards at the very end.

I wanted to add some texture pieces to these busy boards so I ran over to the Dollar Tree to see what they had.  And I found these neat little car washer scrubbers.

I bought two and took them home only to discover they're mittens with pockets! So my idea quickly switched since the kids immediately got ahold of them and wanted to make puppets.

This really only took five minutes (including time for the glue gun to heat up) and was cheap since I used only what I had in my craft stash.

For this project we used:

Pompoms

Plastic eyes (different colors)

Peices of scrap felt

glue gun

I combed the scrubby things to the side and glued directly to the mitten. For the eyes on the green one I stick medium sized pompoms down first and glued the eyes to that so they stuck out more.

Oh I also placed a tiny felt rose on the green one because she's a girl. 😉

Then I just took scraps of felt and dotted in a few different places to form the mouth and ears on the blue one.  My little boy said that this one’s a cat. A very suspicious-looking cat…
