Fact: We really, really love waffles in this house.

But this hasn’t always been the case.

On Waffle Sundays I would find some great waffle recipe to try to convince Leif to love waffles and he didn’t. I tried different recipes, different toppings and still no deal. Texture thing maybe? Husband doesn’t like waffles either so maybe?

Until now. For my birthday I got a waffle maker. But not just any. I paid upwards of $70 for this beauty and I am so glad I made that purchase.

For a Palmer Electric Belgian waffle maker. Thin style. I originally bought it for the sole purpose of making stroopwafel {which is the perfect thinness for stroopwafel} but the regular waffles it cranks out seriously taste just like Eggo waffles!

Waffle maker characteristics:

  • No timer

  • No buttons

  • Makes about 5” waffles

  • Non-coated

  • Stainless steel

  • Durable

Makes about 1/8 inch waffles. Also, unless your recipe involves lots of butter you will want to grease every couple of batches with a bit of olive oil and a brush to prevent sticking.
