Simple pillowcase tutorial
Need a quick fix for a pillow update? Or want to refresh your front room? Try this easy reversible pillow tutorial!
Always check the remnant pile at your fabric store first. Cheaper and if you rely on whatever has previously been picked out and cut you can just let that be the inspiration for your next project 😉
Based on what remnants I find I then buy a coordinating ($1) fat quarter to complement it.
Find your pillows that need a refresh and measure them up with your material (yeah it would probably be good to do this first!).
Lay the remnant material with pretty side facing the pretty side of the fat quarter.
Once fabrics are cut to size, stick them right sides together and sew.
Sew on all three sides of pillow, leaving the narrowest side unsewed.
Trim off any excess.
Now turn the opening out about 1-1.5 inches.
Then sew two lines so it lays flat. You can also finish with a zigzag stitch on the inside edge.
I'm a little too lazy for that.
Enjoy! I like to use mine on the patio if we have company or in the front room or bedroom as an extra pillow! They’re cute and versatile!
