diy paint sample wreath
Every time I see this wreath on my door I feel so festive!
Maybe because it costs practically nothing to make, besides a little bit of time and some glue sticks. Or maybe because you don’t expect such a “wow!” coming from a simple paper wreath! Either way, this tutorial is totally adaptable to your style or holiday. I made this specifically for Thanksgiving but I honestly could use it for any holiday because of all the pops of color!
If you have a round paper puncher then this project will be super quick! Although there were other materials that I already had on hand like a metal wire wreath from a previous wreath project that was also paper and easy to take off and start again. I also had some leftover crepe paper which helps to hold the paper on more securely.
Finally… I got a bunch of paint samples from the hardware store. I asked them first, told them it’s for a project {which technically it is} but that I needed tons of different colors. They said as long as I took just one of each color that was totally fine- and that’s just what I did! So I suggest you ask the employee before you take them because this project does require a lot of them. I would roughly guess about 100.
First, wrap your wreath frame with some crepe paper. This makes it easier to glue and it keeps the paper more secure.
Then take a paper puncher, mine was 2” size.
Then start gluing! I started in a symmetrical pattern but then got thrown off but continued anyway and it didn’t seem to matter since it still looked great when I finished!
