Gold Pinecone Starfish

A nautical take on a simple, easily-attainable craft that you can find pretty much anywhere. Well that is if you live in the country/mountains like I do.

We have tons of huge pine trees at our local park that me and the kids like to collect for fun.

I couldn’t resist spray painting them gold…

I was going to go for a geometric/modern design but they were too heavy to hang from the branch. So at the last minute I decided to make these “starfish”. I had enough pinecones to make about six or seven of them and now they’re gracefully resting on the branches of my tree, secured with a bit of red pip cleaner and a bow to conceal it.
