Gold leaf garland
Do you remember my previous post where I found the prettiest, most simple and inexpensive way to make fall-inspired garland?
Well now that Thanksgiving is over, don’t throw away fall leaf that garland just yet! This next craft transforms the previous craft with just a bit of gold spray paint… and makes you feel like you’re living with King Midas, but still!
I’m still perfectly in love with the beautiful, vibrant and crisp leaves that I preserved from my yard but now that Christmas is coming my eyes are glazing over with golds, sparkles, and all kinds of pretty things.
Seriously though. Gold spray paint makes the world seem a little more decadent, yes??
Here’s how:
Carefully remove your garland from wherever you hung it and go spray it outside on BOTH sides, making sure you cover up the brightly-colored straws!
The leaves absorbed the paint pretty quick so I was able to bring it back in and rehang it in about 15 minutes.
I chose this time to rehang it from the shelves my husband made that sit above the wood stove. Now it looks so dramatic and glamorous yet totally earthy at the same time!
In fact, I might just keep these here beyond Christmas, basically until I get sick of looking at gold, which might be a while…
