Natural Autumn Leaf Garland
Want to decorate your house with the vivid colors of fall? Want to do it for free, too??
Forage for some pretty leaves in your own yard to hang up in your house!
I chose some from a flowering pear tree, plum tree, and lilac tree. *Note: I got the biggest leaves from the “sucker trees”, the tiny trees that grow out of the sides of bigger trees.
Find a box that can be folded in half or use a large book or something else that is flat and can be closed. Lay down some newspaper and lay down your leaves in rows so that they’re not touching each other.
Put away for 1-2 weeks to dry. They should be dry and perfectly flat.
Take some straws, plastic or paper. I accidentally grabbed some extra large “smoothie” straws which actually ended up perfect for this project since it was easy threading.
Cut each straw into teeny tiny pieces and glue them on the back of the leaves with some hot glue.
And then thread them onto some string and hang them in your house~
So pretty!
