Spiced Caramel Latte

Well good morning and happy fall to y’all!!

You want to hear a secret?

I’ve never been inside a Starbucks before! Crazy! Especially for how much I love lattes!

But a good latte and Starbucks is not necessarily synonymous.

A delicious, creamy, frothy one can come from a road stand, a quaint cafe on College Avenue, or even your own kitchen.

Yup, it’s easy. But you have to get yourself a decent espresso maker first. I love this one.

Recipe:

1/2 cup freshly-brewed plain espresso

16 oz milk

2 heaping tbsp caramel buttermilk syrup

cinnamon to sprinkle

freshly-grated nutmeg (optional)

Pour your milk into a glass mason jar and microwave on high for two minutes. Once heated, add in your syrup and cinnamon and secure the lid on tightly. Shake for 10 seconds. Release lid and pour in a large mug. Pour slowly so that the foam hangs out at the bottom of the cup so it’s can be pour or scooped on the top of the latte at the very end. Slowly drizzle in the coffee/espresso. Finish with some freshly-grated nutmeg using a microplane.
